Graduation...Grad school...Costa Rica

7  My heart, O God, is steadfast,

    my heart is steadfast;

    I will sing and make music.
8  Awake, my soul!

    Awake, harp and lyre!

    I will awaken the dawn.
 9 I will praise you, Lord, among the nations;

    I will sing of you among the peoples
           Psalm 57:7-9

July of 2004 marks my first international mission trip. It also marks the moment God started awakening my soul for serving his people to the ends of the Earth. Several years of growing and mission trips later, I finally have a glimpse of what God has in store for me after college.

I will be graduating on December 13th, 2010 with a degree in Secondary Spanish Education from Auburn University. Starting in January 0f 2011, I will pursue a Masters Degree in English for Speakers of Other Languages. I am very excited about the program and about the opportunities it will bring me. I will graduate from Graduate School in December of 2011. Here comes the adventure... In January of 2012, I will be packing up my life in Auburn and I will be moving to San José Costa Rica.

I have felt God stirring my heart and my soul has been awakened to the amazing opportunity to be an ambassador for Jesus in Costa Rica. God has given me a deep love for the people of Costa Rica, and now it is time for me to invest a part of my life in them. I still have a long way to go before I make this transition. I hope this time is filled with stretching, growing and learning. I am confident that this time will be filled with trials, worries, sadness, joy and anticipation, but I also know that I will be equipped nonetheless.

Now, I ask that during this time, you would pray that God would continue to shape me during this time of preparation. I  ask that you would pray that he would continue to awake my soul to see and feel His presence and guidance. I also ask that you would pray for the people I will meet and know in Costa Rica, that God would start stirring their souls so that they may have a great awakening.
